Bipolar Disorder
Bipolar disorders are conditions characterized by periodic, intense emotional states affecting a person's mood, energy, and ability to function. These periods may last a few days to several weeks and are called mood episodes. Mood episodes are categorized as manic or hypomanic when the mood is intensely happy or irritable versus depressive when there is intense sadness or an inability to experience pleasure or joy. When treated, people with bipolar disorders can lead full and productive lives.

Bipolar disorder is a category that includes bipolar I, bipolar II, cyclothymic disorder, or dysthymic disorder.
Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder

Uncontrollable racing thoughts or quickly changing ideas

Increased activity, restlessness
